This privacy policy applies to the SparqIoT website, the Sparq Manager application, and all related services developed and published by HopX and Loka Systems.

Who we are
Sparq and Sparq Manager are products developed and published by HopX, a trading name of Loka Systems.

Collection
What data we collect and why
- Name and email address
- To create and manage your account.
- Password, stored encrypted
- To authenticate you securely.
- Device type, OS, app version
- To ensure Sparq Manager works on your device.
- IP address and approximate location
- To deliver the service and detect fraud.
- App usage and feature interactions
- To improve the app and fix problems.
- Payment billing details
- To process your subscription. Card numbers are handled by our payment provider and never stored by us.
- Website comments, if submitted
- To publish your comment on our site.
- Uploaded images
- These may contain embedded location data (EXIF); we remove it before publishing.
We do not collect sensitive personal data such as health or biometric data. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

- To keep the service secure and stable, and to improve it.

- For non-essential cookies and marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Third parties
Google services used in Sparq Manager
Sparq Manager uses the following Google services, which operate under Google's own privacy policy.
- Google Play Services
- Used to distribute and update the app. Google may collect device and usage data as part of Play Services.
- Google Analytics for Firebase
- Collects anonymised usage data to help us understand how the app is used.
Embedded content
Embedded content
Pages on this site may include embedded content from other websites, such as videos and images. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited those websites directly, and may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction with that content.
Storage
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored in the UK or EEA. Where any provider stores data outside these regions, we ensure an ICO-approved transfer mechanism is in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA).
Retention
How long we retain your data
- Account data
- For the duration of your account, plus 12 months after closure.
- Financial and billing records
- Six years, as required by HMRC.
- App usage and technical logs
- 12 months.
- Website comments
- Retained to allow moderation of follow-up comments.
Your rights
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

- The personal data we hold about you, by subject access request.
- Correct
- Inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete
- Your data, where we have no legal obligation to retain it.
- Object
- To processing based on legitimate interests.
- Port
- Your data to another service.
- Withdraw consent
- For cookies or marketing emails, at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@sparqiot.com. We will respond within one calendar month at no charge.
Security
Security
We use HTTPS encryption, encrypted password storage and role-based access controls to protect your data. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours and inform you without undue delay.
Complaints
Your right to complain
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to the UK supervisory authority.
